Why I Built This Habit
I used to dread checking my credit card statement. Netflix, Spotify, various subscriptions I forgot I signed up for... the charges always caught me off guard.
That's when I started using Payment Calendar. Having everything visible in one place brought me peace of mind.
Getting Started
Download Payment Calendar from the App Store — just search for "Payment Calendar" and you'll find it. It's free to download.
Step 1: Add Your First Payment
When you open the app, you'll see a clean calendar view. Tap the + button in the bottom right to add a new payment.

Each date shows the total amount due that day. You can see at a glance how much is going out this month.
What to enter:
- Name: Netflix, Phone Bill, Insurance, etc.
- Amount: How much it costs each month
- Due Date: Which day of the month it's charged
- Group: Organize by Personal, Family, Work, etc.

The number pad pops up immediately, making it quick to enter amounts.
Step 2: Set Up Recurring
Most fixed expenses repeat monthly. Turn on "Monthly repeat" and it'll automatically show up next month too.
Pro tip: For annual payments (like yearly subscriptions), set them to "Yearly repeat" so you won't forget.
Step 3: View All Payments in List
Besides the calendar, you can also view everything as a list. Tap the middle tab at the bottom to see all your payments.

Rent, insurance, subscriptions — all in one screen! Each item shows the due date and amount for easy management.
Step 4: Enable Notifications
You can get reminders before payment due dates. I set mine for one day before — it helps me make sure I have enough balance and avoid failed payments.
Tips for Better Usage
-
Use Groups: Separate personal, family, and work expenses. Makes everything cleaner.
-
Monthly Review: Once a month, go through your list and ask "Am I actually using this?" Cancel what you don't need.
-
Home Screen Widget: Add the widget to see upcoming payments without opening the app. (Premium feature)
Final Thoughts
Setting everything up might take 10-15 minutes initially. But once it's done, you'll never be surprised by a charge again. You'll know exactly what's coming and when.
